What We Do

Commonwealth Positivity’s philanthropic mission is focused on three key areas of engagement, each designed to increase awareness, encourage collaboration, and empower small charities operating within economically developing Commonwealth countries. All of our work in these areas is supported and delivered through our bespoke digital platform—the Commonwealth Portal.

First, we organise educational and informative webinars that highlight individual Commonwealth countries and the British, Australian, Canadian and New Zealand charities working on the ground within them. By leveraging our extensive social media presence across the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth nations, alongside the accessibility of Zoom Webinars, we connect audiences to stories and insights that foster greater cultural understanding. These events are coordinated and hosted via the Commonwealth Portal, where users can view upcoming sessions, register for participation, and access past recordings and resources.

Through these virtual events, we aim to increase awareness, identify areas for collaboration, and celebrate the impactful work of small international development charities. The goal is always to inspire support—whether through volunteerism, partnerships, or donations—that enables these organisations to thrive. All related educational content and follow-up materials are made available through the Commonwealth Portal.

Secondly, Commonwealth Positivity hosts a series of in-person events, with initial programmes launching in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. These events are designed to blend education, networking, and cultural engagement. Each event spotlights a specific Commonwealth country, promotes cultural awareness, and provides a platform for small development charities to share their work. Whether a roundtable discussion, seminar, or networking reception, these gatherings also create valuable opportunities for young leaders to grow their professional networks and explore pathways into international development. Event registration, details, and updates are managed exclusively through the Commonwealth Portal.

We work closely with institutions of higher learning, our Commonwealth Commissioner Programme, and diplomatic missions accredited to the Commonwealth countries to ensure our in-person events are inclusive, impactful, and aligned with our charitable objectives. In every case, the aim is to deepen understanding and elevate the visibility of the charities whose work reflects the shared values of the Commonwealth.

Finally, our cornerstone initiative is the Commonwealth Portal itself—a free, pro-bono digital hub designed specifically to support small international development charities with a focus on Commonwealth nations. With around 5,000 such charities operating on limited budgets (under £1 million in annual turnover) in the United Kingdom alone, this platform enables them to access vital resources, reduce costs, and form meaningful connections with peers, policy leaders, and supporters. The Portal is central to our mission, offering a space where charities can grow, collaborate, and amplify their impact.

Through each of these pillars—webinars, in-person events, and the digital portal—Commonwealth Positivity continues to champion the extraordinary work of small charities, support cultural awareness, and bring Commonwealth citizens closer together in shared purpose and mutual respect
